Sony 3D TV
Sony are leading the amazing new world of 3D from filming great movies through to creating 3D TV world at home. Today Sony is one of the biggest manufacturers of 3D cinema equipment and this years World Cup in South Africa will be the very first captured in Full HD 3D using their cameras and 3D technologies. Sony Pictures will be releasing the official 3D film of the 2010 FIFA World Cup meaning you will be able to relive the greatest event in the world over and over again in truly astounding 3D in your very home.
A Sony 3D television use state-of-the-art picture and sound technologies to give you a completely immersive Full HD 3D TV experience. Put on the special Active Shutter glasses, forget memories of cut-out cardboard ones with blurry red and green images, and you'll be taken straight into incredibly true-to-life, detailed scenes which literally jump out of the screen at you.
A new Sony 3D TV has full 3D capabilities built-in and some will come with Active Shutter glasses supplied. Connect one of Sony's new 3D Blu-ray Disc Player's using an HDMI cable with 3D support and you’re ready to begin an incredible 3D journey straight from your living room. Soon you will be able to upgrade and connect a compatible games console or Home Cinema system to your Sony 3D TV and even experience 3D on VAIO laptops.
Image quality produced by other types of 3D TV technology doesn’t compare to Sony's Full HD 3D experience, traditional 3D technology uses 2 different colours, such as red and green, to create an illusion of depth but image quality is poor. Polarisation 3D projects 2 images onto the same screen using special filters but watching through polariser glasses compromises quality and creates overly bright pictures. It’s even possible to create 3D pictures which don’t need glasses but viewing angles are narrow and results are average.
Sony 3D TV's produce much more true-to-life, immersive results compared to previous 3D technologies thanks to their clever delivery of TV images. Sony 3D uses High Frame Rate technology that create different frames consecutively to your left and right eye and the Active Shutter glasses receive a signal from the 3D TV depending on the image being shown and close one of the lenses in a fragment of a second so only one eye at a time sees the relevant Full HD picture. The result is amazing depth and smooth 3D images which can be seen from a wide viewing angle.
Of course it's up to you when you want to experience 3D television; remove the Active Shutter glasses, turn off the feature and you’re back to watching normal 2D TV – with all the detail, rich colours and crisp picture quality that Sony pride themselves on.
